Chef Shangri-La

Our other favorite local tiki bar and restaurant has been around since the 70’s and has a pretty strong Mai Tai. There signature drink the “Dr. Fong” is something to be had as well, if you ask what’s in it the only answer you will get is “rum and fruit juices.” When we first started coming here the place was a hole in the wall, loose wires hanging from the ceiling, uneven booth seats, strong cheap drinks, it was great! But when the daughter of the original owners, Betty was in charge it only got better! She breathed new life into the restaurant, bringing new and delicious items to the menu, expanded the drink selection, revamped the decor, and added weekly live entertainment. Betty was always excited to see us when we came in and treated us like ohana. Unfortunately there has been a change in management and now the future of the Chef is unclear. Nevertheless we wish Betty well in her future endeavors! (Update we found Betty here!)
